Nha Trang resorts line the pristine beach
There’s a dizzying range of accommodation available in and around Nha Trang, ranging from resorts that occupy their own private island to cheap but clean digs in the budget district. One good thing for visitors is that with so much competition, room rates are very competitive and you’re likely to get a good deal whether high end or low end.
All the top hotels enjoy a spot on Tran Phu, which runs north to south behind the beach, though you’ll have to cross the road from all of them but one to get on to the sand. Since a sea view is one of the top selling points for hotels, some developers have built tall towers to take advantage of this.
Most budget hotels, as well as a good number of the city’s best restaurants and bars, are situated around Biet Thu, to the south of the city centre. In this area there’s a small enclave of budget digs, dubbed ‘Hotel Alley’, beside 64 Tran Phu, where you can enjoy cheap rates and still be just a few steps from the beach.

Sao Mai: One of the longest-running budget places in town, this place is good value and often full of backpackers. There’s a dorm for just US$3 a night as well as ensuite doubles. My Hoa: Small-scale family-run Nha Trang guesthouse towards the north end of town near the local bus station. Rooms are clean and pleasant with views over the city and beyond to the sea from the top of the building. Rooms from US$10. 7 Hang Ca, tel: +84 (0)58 810111.
