One of the great benefits of Hoi An’s increased popularity for visitors is that the range of accommodation has expanded considerably in recent years. There is now stiff competition for custom at all levels – budget, mid-range and top-end – which helps to keep rates down and generally means there are great deals to be found.
Though there are a few places in the Old Town, these are rather basic in terms of their facilities. To the north of the centre, however, are several smart new hotels with well-equipped rooms and swimming pools at very reasonable rates. Tucked away in secluded areas not far from the centre are some of Vietnam’s most luxurious resorts, such as the Nam Hai, and if you’re a beach person, you might want to consider basing yourself at Cua Dai Beach, where several resorts pamper their guests with a comprehensive range of facilities.

Victoria Hoi An Resort & Spa: This is the best resort on Cua Dai Beach, fronted by a lovely stretch of soft sand. Nam Hai: This is the kind of place that takes your breath away as soon as you see it, but you’ll need full and deep pockets in order to stay.
