Ha Long Bay hotels and guesthouses

Staying on traditional junks is a fantastic experience
For all but those few visitors who zip to Ha Long Bay on a lightning day tour from Hanoi (170kms away), there are three lodging options available in the area. The first is Ha Long City (formerly Bai Chay), which attracts the lion’s share of domestic and Asian visitors. The second is Cat Ba Island, which appeals more to Western visitors. The third is in the bay itself, sleeping on a luxury junk, which is really the best choice, though prices tend to be prohibitive.
